Yoga Bruise

I went on a commitment on Monday. We stopped at this place for something to eat before the meeting and my friend Bryan and I were standing in the parking lot having a yoga competition. He did a standing head to knee and I followed. I felt fine but after doing the posture I noticed that the side of my knee was a bit swollen. At first I thought it was a really big zit but then I looked and realized that I did something to my leg.

I totally obsessed about it all night. We got to the meeting and after listening to my friends share I realized I was in the right place and was able to share from the heart. Heh. I always share from the heart but there was something different about the way that I was speaking on this night. Anyway I talked about my leg and how I was depressed about messing it up (I told my story too :).

It was a great meeting and I was really glad to have gone. My friend Kari dropped me off and I realized I didn’t have my keys so I had to break into my house! I took the next day off of yoga and just did my best to be…

At yoga this morning I talked to Jen about what happened and she said that it was a normal yoga injury. She was nice enough to not beat me up about practicing yoga cold in a parking lot :). Class went well and I feel OK right now. I will bring my ice pack to work so that I can ice it later today.

The bottom line with yoga is keep going. Don’t stop. Just go and see what happens…sometimes you can go further than others…sometimes you try so hard you hurt yourself and sometimes you don’t.
