Well good morning sunshine! I don’t know if it really matters but it felt a lot better waking up in Chicago than it did waking up in New York. To me Chicago has all of the best parts of New York without the mess.
I opened up the shade covering the window in my hotel room and was pleased to see cars moving throughout the streets.
I shouldn’t be so hard on New York. I think the real problem was that they put me on the 36th floor in the Hilton. First that Hilton sucks and I won’t stay there again. Second I think that my body has an issue with sleeping that high up in the sky. Each time I have been put in a room that high up I have a lot of trouble falling asleep.
Getting back to my Hilton issues. That hotel compared to the Hyatt in Chicago is night and day. The Hilton had a fitness center but you had to pay for it. Unless you were a diamond member! Then it is free and I use that term losely. The room was not fresh, air was stale, and not very welcoming.
The Hyatt on the other hand was very open. The gym was free, in fact they have a motto “Stay fit”. That is cool in my book. The room was recently renovated, clean, fresh, open, and very welcoming.
Hotel’s are like people and you can’t write off a whole chain just because one of them sucked. You’ve gotta take each one in and form an opinion based off of that. Or not. Whatever this is just about what I do 🙂
So next up is the Hilton in Toronto. I have stayed there before and remember it being pretty good.
I really like Chicago. In fact it is probably the only other place that I would live aside from Boston.
