…Keep it in the day…
Sometimes my mind races and while I am doing one thing I start thinking about another. I was in yoga class this morning and I started thinking about yoga class tomorrow! During these times I have to tell myself “Aaron tomorrow is tomorrow, you are in today so be here.” My mind, like my body goes back and forth. I have to keep reminding myself and my body to relax, stretch, and grow.
It certainly isn’t any easier to live in the day when you are thinking about tomorrow. Nor is it any easier to live in the day if you are thinking about yesterday. Being here, in the moment, isn’t easy. It takes practice and patience. When the mind wanders it needs to be gently reminded to return to the present. To take in what is important and release the rest.
