Posture Clinic IX

My plan was to wait until Monday to deliver triangle posture. I thought it would be a good idea for me to sit back and go towards the middle or end of the group. I have been jumping up first quite a bit and wanted to try something different.

Anyway at the break I ate my lunch and practised the dialogue. I was ready but still figured I would just wait. If there was a space for me to go I would but I wouldn’t force it.

It was towards the end of the class and I looked at a friend from my group and asked if she wanted to go and she said “no you go…” I was like “OK.”

My homework was to say the dialogue 10 times as fast as possible before I delivered it. All I can say is that really helped. Once I got the students setup and into the posture I was able to deliver with speed and clearness of speech. There was something about this delivery that set it apart from all of the others. I was really connected and it seemed like nothing could have taken me from my focus. It was really cool.

Since I’ve been here and delivered half-moon for Bikram I’ve realized one of the most important think in being a teacher is to connect with the students and deliver the dialogue. Any time that I’ve just said the dialogue and wasn’t connected things didn’t come out right or I lost my place.

A good friend texted the following to me the other day:

“Don’t let it go to your head when it’s good and don’t let it go to your heart when it’s bad.”

I really like that…
