Posture Clinic III

I didn’t deliver any dialogue in the second Posture clinic but heard a ton of great feedback for others. There really is something special in listening to others deliver dialogue and seeing what works for them…

In the third posture clinic I delivered awkward pose. I felt pretty good although I was a bit nervous. When I stared one of the teachers mentioned that I didn’t have yoga clothes on. Immediately I stripped down to my yoga clothes and everyone started laughing. It was pretty funny actually and the laughter really helped me calm down.

I started delivering the dialogue and everything went pretty smoothly. There were a few times where I got a bit lost but I don’t think it was noticeable to others. I felt confident and able to deliver the dialogue and get them in and out of the posture.

My homework was to stand up straight and “be 6’4″” I’ve been crouching down when I teach and I’ve noticed that it is really hard for me to stand up straight especially when I’m thinking about what to say next. My inclination is to slouch when I’m looking for words or simply just thinking a lot.

I think it is really great that each of us has stuff to work on. One of the teachers made a great point when he said we are here to learn to be Bikram yoga teachers and we are not there yet. That reminded me that this is a process and each of us will have specific work to do while we are here…
