Met up with Liam tonight at MR and here is what we did:
Lead
5.7 Green EPH
Easy peasy, but a great warm up good holds
5.8 Orange EPH
This route is along the prow. What a great climb! starts out really easy but as you work your way up the wall it gets more and more overhanging. There is a section after the third or fourth clip that is definitely tiring but totally doable.
I felt confident throughout the climb and did it without any problems.
5.9 Green
This route is just to the right of the prow on the opposing wall with a room. It’s a straight forward climb with a tricky start and a tricky roof. You have to get your right hand on the hold just over the roof in order to be able to snag the left hand hold just above that. Anything else and you’ll fall…:) I sailed up it until I got to that point had to take a rest and then once I figured it out flew up to the top
5.10a Orange EPH
Liam really wanted to do this one since he’d been working on it for a few weeks. I was like fuck it why not…Man was this route hard. It is pumpy and very sustained throughout the climb. I found that I kept getting my feet messed up. I took a rest after the third clip figured out my feet and then continued moving. I moved through probably the hardest section of the climb and just let myself fall because I was so tired. There is some relief after the hard section around the fourth or fifth clip but then it gets hard again for the last two or three moves.
Great route! I’ll definitely try it again…
Top Rope
5.10 b/c EPH
Stemmy twisty hip crampy…neat route I fell a few times
5.10d
This one was pretty crimpy and there were a few cool side pulls. I got up to the fist section no problem but then fell throwing for a hold high above. Slipped a little further on. OK climb…
I felt pretty good tonight. I’m still trying to get my lead head together it may take a little longer but I know I’ll get there. Time for bed!
