Christmas in Review

So much has gone on in the past week or so. I am glad that Christmas has come and gone and that the new year is on the way. Running around getting gifts, forgetting some, getting more, forgetting others, getting more and then accepting the fact that you just can’t get something for everyone.

I started about two weeks out this year and that is improvement. It really does make sense to shop for people throughout the year so I will make a list and do it in 2007. It is really tough to try and figure out what everyone wants last minute and isn’t very productive.

For the most part the anatomy of this years Christmas was the same: Went home to my Dad’s for Christmas Eve, and then went to my Sister’s house on Christmas day. There is more to be said about that but first and most obvious is spending Saturday night with my girlfriend. We had a great time together, exchanged gifts, and then went out on the town for a really nice dinner. I am really grateful for what we have found together.

The family is holding together. Everyone has their shit but I love them all. My best present was a gift from Heather a Wave Board. So every chance I had I went out an practiced on it. What a cool invention!

My Dad and his wife Sandra did a ton of work on their house and it looks really nice now. My sister, husband and the kids are all doing well and things were great, as always, on that front.

Coming home I got a bit of a cold, but nothing too bad. It was nice to see my girlfriend and relax a bit. The reality is that just because of the Holidays normal responsibilities do not end (bummer). I still had to clean, do laundry, and take care of the bills. I am thirty-three years old and still long for the time when all I had to do was worry about not getting emotionally abused and playing with my new toys. Nowadays I don’t have to worry about the emotional abuse part (well, whatever), but I can still play with my new toys just as long as I get everything else done too!
