Wow! Here is a quick catch up post:
Wednesday –
The flight to Houston was great Jay and I met a cool woman named Natalie from Prince Edward Island. She was an acupuncturist and her and I talked for pretty much the entire flight. It was cool and made the time go by really quickly!
Got into Houston and got the car. The drive from Houston to San Antonio was fun I did it without any trouble. We hit some patches of fog that made it impossible to see and we had to slow down a bit so that cost us so time.
Once we got to the hotel we realized having a car was a bit of a liability since they want you to pay for parking blah blah blah. Bullshit. We parked in the lot for one night with the attitude that we would find some other way to house the car.
After searching around for some snacks we finally got to sleep at like 4am.
Thursday –
Woke up at like 8:30 so got a whopping four hours of sleep. Went over to registration and got our packets and met some people. I was overwhelmed by all of the stuff and the magnitude of the conference. A bit of a negative attitude started to hit me because of a lack of sleep. I kept thinking that the vacation was ruined and that I was less than. I knew this was because I hadn’t gotten enough sleep but yet the thought kept coming back.
The blues luncheon was great Kenny Wayne Shepard was totally awesome, but again I was pretty tired so I did my best to stay in it. I met up with a few more people from MA.
After the luncheon I realized exactly what I needed: a meeting. So we went over to a workshop and I got what I needed. I still felt negative but I realized there was hope even for me and there would be even more hope after I got some sleep.
Keep moving…Another workshop…food…and then the main meeting at the Alamodome.
Walking into the Alamodome was just amazing. The stage was totally beautiful with two big screen and other screens all around so that everyone could see the speaker.
We took pictures and met new people…
Didn’t stay for the dance needed to get some sleep…
Friday –
Lots of sleep 🙂 Found a home for the car we just parked it at a meter so I got up and fed the meter and then we got ready and went over to the convention center.
Workshops and fellowship…
Food at the Hard Rock got a great Cob Salad (sorry no pictures 🙂
Main meeting was amazing I couldn’t help but feel the hope flowing through me. I can’t express what it feels like to be part of something that has changed my life in such a fundamental way. More importantly to be part of something that IS changing lives in a fundamental way. It is truly a blessing.
Seeing George Carlin live was totally awesome he is so inspiring and intelligent.
The dance last night was OK. I wasn’t self-obsessed or anything just tired and pretty much wanted to go home but I figured when would I have the chance to be here again :).
Saturday –
Got up at 7:30 to feed the meter, but forgot the car keys! Came back and then Jay came with me to the car and we went and got a cup of coffee.
Once we got back I went into the sauna for like 35 minuets! It felt great and so did the shower afterwards…
On to the day!
