Small problem at the front desk with a student. She came in right before class was about to start saying that she was going to modify the postures by using a towel because her thumb hurt. I encouraged her to not use the towel. I simply said you don’t need it. She said it doesn’t hurt during class but does after. I said you don’t need the towel. She said “Well then I’m outta here.” I said “OK see you later.” In retrospect I could have just said “Lets see what you are doing and we can talk about it after class.” I dunno though I obviously hit a nerve and that is never a bad thing. I wasn’t mean to her or rude in fact I was really nice. Lets face it the fucking towel isn’t doing anything to prevent a repetitive stress injury. She just came off her intro and now she is walking in saying that she is gonna modify postures. My new saying should be “Did you go to teacher training?” Shit I went to teacher training and I still work with other teachers when it comes to questions about postures and helping students work through issues. Nevertheless it’s tough to deal with situations like that at the front desk at 555 🙂

She’ll come back and if she doesn’t it’s on her not me.

Class was pretty good. I was in my head a bit about the student leaving but I owned my part and let it fly. I had 20 students standing in front of me needing my direction.

Smaller class but it was nice. I was happy that there were only 12 or so students. They were spread out around the room nicely and moving the bodies was fun.
