8am – Jackie

Shoulder was hurting pretty bad but the class felt really good. I got the blood flowing through it and I took it a bit easy in the first backward bend just to see where my body was at and then killed it in the second…Did my stretching and stuff after the class minus full camel…

12pm

Hot and humid…the students were doing find so I held the line. Some were struggling but a little encouragement goes a long way. Got em all up to do triangle! I opened everything up to air the place out during savassana and during that time one student gets up and goes to check his cell phone. I’m watching him do this and just observing. I’m hoping that he’ll just lay back down. He doesn’t so I ask him if he is on call. He says no and then I said “well what are you doing then?” He lays back down and then gets up and puts his may on the ballet bar. He says he has to leave and I say don’t go its fine just stay. Then he says that he has to make a call. I realize I can’t stop him from doing it so I focus on the rest of the students in the class.

Off he goes into the little closet/changing room where his cell phone is and I start teaching the class. We get to locust and I realize he isn’t going to come back out so I go and get him. I opened the door saw him there and asked if everything was OK. He says yes and that he’s sorry. I said no problem set back up and take it easy…

We talked after class. The moral of the story is that you never know what is going on with someone so it’s always best to err on the side of caution and concern.
