So today was much better on the work front. I didn’t feel so bad about myself and my job. I think taking some action really helped get me out of myself and into just doing what I need to do for me. It isn’t like I did anything special just worked on my resume. Last night I was able to think about some things that I needed to do at work and I was able to accomplish those tasks today. I was upset that I spent so much time on one thing but that is how it goes some days.

Around 1pm I went to the eye doctor. I wanted to ask about contacts and I ended up getting a pair to go home with! Wow! I thought that was pretty cool, but shit the first one is always free :). Just kidding. Anyway I have Spectera insurance which only entitled me to either contacts OR glasses, so I opted for the coverage to go to glasses since I planned to only have contacts for sports and stuff. Here is the thing: I wanted to use the same frames and the woman helping me was like “Well we will have to send the glasses to Spectera because they have there own lab.” I was like “OH that sucks.” So you see they sort of pigeon-hole you into buying their shitty frames. I have a pair of like $300 frames that I have used for the past seven or eight years.

She was going to call and see if we could work something out (where she didn’t have to send them in) and I asked to go to the bathroom. Someone was in there and while I was standing there I was like “Wait a minute how about we apply the insurance to the contacts and I will pay for the glasses out of my pocket (and then they can do the lenses in the store).” Boom that was the solution. Three-hundred bucks later and a couple of contacts later I was on my way.

It really is great to be able to think freely. To some that may seem totally obvious but to me and my bullheadedness it is a sign of growth.

I signed up on Facebook. I dunno I think it is cool. It even prompted me to go and get an alumni email address from my alma mater, Suffolk.

Here today, gone tomorrow, get it while it’s hot!
